The ACAO 51st Safety Committee meeting ASC/51 has been conducted in Jeddah, KSA, , Rabat, Morocco, the 7 November 2023, under Hybrid form. Eng. Manar Abdennebi DG of the ACAO opened the meeting welcoming the participants. The meeting has been chaired by Mr. Ammous Mohamed Representative of the State of Palestine, Vis Chairperson of the committee. The secretariat was ensured by Hicham Bennani Safety Expert within the ACAO.

The meeting was attended by a total of 12 participants (6 in person) from 8 States (6 Members and 2 Observers).
In addition to the review of the list of actions and decisions taken as result of the previous session, the meeting adopted a series of recommendations regarding the implementation of MENA ARCM (outcomes of the 3rd & 4th meeting), the MENA RSOO (preparation of the launching MENA RSOO activities on the side line of the ICAN in Riyadh, KSA on 6 December 2023), as well as the ACAO Plan of activities for 2023-2024.

The meeting also initiated a new initiative regarding the establishment of a pool of experts/Auditors for supporting Member States in the USOAP CMA Activities.

In the side line of the meeting the ACAO attended the MENASASI/ISASI seminar on the Accident investigation. It has been attended by 198 participants from several States and organizations. The meeting was addressed important topics such as Challenges on Meteorological Information Interpretation, Hi-Tech in Accident Investigation - Beyond Conventional Approach, Bridging Annex13 and 19 benefiting safety gains early in an investigation, The Management of Change during a period of constant Change, Mental Health Issues and Support System in Aviation. The ACAO participated in this event by a presentation on the safety/just culture and Accident investigation.
