The Qatar civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) hosted the Interregional Threat Assessment and Risk Management Seminar‚ which took place in Doha on 14 and 15 November 2023.

The Interregional Seminar was jointly organized by the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC)‚ the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO)‚ and the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC).

More than 100 participants from 51 African and Arab States‚ organizations and industry stakeholders exchanged information and the best practices during the Seminar‚ where presentations were given by 16 international experts.

The main objective of the Seminar was to bring together both regulators and stakeholders to understand the various threats to the aviation ecosystem and comprehend ways to constantly review its level key assets.

This was in addition to further examining the relationship between threat‚ vulnerability‚ risk‚ and estimating the impact on airline and airport operations.

Further‚ it aimed to develop and implement an agreed approach on national risk assessment methodology; and develop effective mitigating measures.

The Seminar was also including a discussion on challenges faced in the implementation of risk assessment.
