The GNSS Sub Group 5th GNSS-SG/5 & the ACAO 51st Air navigation Committee Hybrid meeting ANC/51 have been held in rabat, Morocco, in the ACAO HQ, respectively the 13 & 14 – 15 November 2024. Mr. Hicham Bennani Air Navigation Expert on behalf of H.E. Manar Abdennebi DG of the ACAO opened the meeting welcoming the participants. The meeting agreed to elect Mr. Ibrahim Aljabri  Member of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as Chairperson of the air navigation Committee. The meeting elected also Mr. Chahine Alsomrani Member of Republic of Tunisia as vice chair.   

The GNSS-SG5 meeting was attended by a total of 13 participants from 7 states while the ANC51 committee was attended by 17 participants from 10 States.

In addition to the review of the list of actions and decisions taken as result of the previous session, the meeting adopted a series of recommendations regarding the implementation of the GNSS (considering the outcomes of the ACAO GNSS SG/5 meeting which is working on the edition of the new version of the ACAO GNSS Strategy and roadmap, considering all opportunities for implementation of the SBAS as well as the GBAS), the outcomes of the 14th ICAO air navigation conference and new amendment of the GASP 26-28 waiting it approval by the ICAO Assembly, as well as the NEW set of PQs-2024 for the USOAP CMA.
