As part of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization's ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional engagement with its Member States and further enhance cooperation and coordination with their diplomatic missions accredited to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Eng. Khalid Cherkaoui, Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), continued his series of official visits during the period from 20 to 24 July 2026 to a number of Arab Ambassadors accredited in Rabat.
The visits included H.E. Ms. Jumana Ghunaimat, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, H.E. Mr. Al Asri Saeed Al Dhaheri, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Ould Bahieh, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, and H.E. Mr. Khalid bin Salem bin Ahmed Bamakhalif, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman.
These visits followed the Director General's meetings with a number of Arab Ambassadors during the previous week, as part of the Organization's commitment to strengthening direct communication with its Member States, consolidating institutional partnerships, and enhancing consultation and coordination in support of its mandate and strategic objectives.
The meetings provided an opportunity to highlight ACAO's role in advancing joint Arab action in the field of civil aviation and to discuss ways of further enhancing technical cooperation among Member States through the development of training programmes, capacity building initiatives, and the exchange of expertise, thereby contributing to the advancement of the Arab civil aviation sector and enabling it to respond effectively to the rapidly evolving regional and international aviation landscape.
During the meetings, the Director General also outlined the Organization's priorities for the coming period, reaffirming ACAO's commitment to strengthening partnerships with its Member States, responding to their evolving needs, and further developing its programmes and initiatives in support of greater Arab integration and the Organization's position as the leading regional centre of expertise in the field of civil aviation.
For their part, the Ambassadors expressed their appreciation for the important role played by ACAO in serving its Member States and reaffirmed their countries' continued support for the Organization and its efforts to promote cooperation, advance common interests, and contribute to the sustainable development of the Arab civil aviation sector.
