His Excellency Eng. Khalid Cherkaoui, Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), received at the Organization's headquarters in Rabat Mr. Tee Chiou Ng, Deputy Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), together with the accompanying delegation, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation and promote the exchange of expertise between the two organizations.

At the outset of the meeting, Mr. Tee Chiou Ng and the accompanying delegation extended their sincere congratulations to H.E. Eng. Khalid Cherkaoui on the occasion of assuming his new responsibilities as Director General of ACAO, wishing him every success in leading the Organization during the coming period. The delegation also conveyed the congratulations and best wishes of the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, reaffirming CAAS's commitment to further strengthening its longstanding cooperation with ACAO.

The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, in line with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between ACAO and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. Particular emphasis was placed on cooperation in training, capacity building, technical knowledge exchange, and supporting initiatives aimed at advancing the civil aviation sector in line with the rapidly evolving regional and international aviation landscape.

The meeting also devoted particular attention to the preparations for the upcoming elections to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which will take place during the ICAO Extraordinary Assembly scheduled for November. H.E. the Director General underscored the importance of unifying Arab efforts and mobilizing international support for the Sultanate of Oman's candidacy for membership of the ICAO Council, noting that the candidacy enjoys the full endorsement of the Arab Group and reflects Oman's distinguished standing and valuable contributions to the advancement of civil aviation at both the regional and international levels. For its part, the Singaporean delegation expressed its appreciation for ACAO's role in strengthening coordination among Arab States and emphasized the importance of continued consultation and cooperation on issues of common interest within international aviation forums, in support of shared efforts to further develop global civil aviation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties expressed their satisfaction with the excellent relations between ACAO and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding institutional cooperation and implementing joint initiatives that contribute to sustainable development of the civil aviation sector and the achievement of their shared objectives.
