Hicham BENNANI is currently Safety & Air Navigation Expert at ACAO (Arab Civil Aviation Organization). He holds an aeronautical engineer degree, and has accumulated more than 28 years of experience in aviation at different level of responsibilities within aviation authorities, stakeholders and regional organizations. He holds as well a certificate of Aircraft Accident investigator.
Mr. Bennani started his career as safety Inspector within CAA of Morocco and later has been appointed as Head of airworthiness then head of ATM. Later on, he joined the ACAO as safety and air navigation expert. In 2016, he joined the Qatar CAA as SSP coordinator, where he played a central role in the development of the State Safety Program. He then returned to the Moroccan Civil Aviation Authority where he was appointed as an administrator and head of a department in charge of resources, procurement and training.
Member of the ICAO Safety Management Panel ICAO/SMP (managing development of Annex 19 and SMM), member of the Integrated Risk Management Study Group (IRM-SG) and also member of the Safety Management International Collaboration Group SMICG. also certified as ICAO Auditor in ANS (new standard), ISO QMS Auditor.
Mr. Bennani, has also been advisor to the DG of the Mauritanian DGCA supporting the upgrade of the Mauritanian Civil Aviation System, recognized by ICAO as bigger jump in the USOAP score history, he played an important role in their recovery of the right to use the European airspace (removed from the blacklist).
He has initiated many regional projects, as RSOO-MENA, MENA-ARCM, MENA CNS/ATM study and the Air Show of Marrakech. Aside from his responsibility, he is also providing basic and continuous aviation training course.
