Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization Meets with the Ambassador of Iraq in Rabat

As part of his meetings with representatives of Arab Member States accredited to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Eng. Khalid Cherkaoui, Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), visited the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Rabat, where he met with H.E. Mr. Haider Shiaa Al-Barrak, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom of Morocco. The meeting addressed a number of matters related to cooperation in the field of civil aviation and ways to further strengthen coordination between ACAO and the Republic of Iraq.
The meeting provided an opportunity to highlight the role of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization in supporting and developing the civil aviation sector in Arab countries, strengthening cooperation and coordination among its Member States, and providing specialized programmes in the areas of training, capacity building, and the exchange of technical expertise and knowledge.
The discussions also covered potential areas of cooperation between ACAO and the Republic of Iraq, with a view to supporting efforts to develop the Iraqi civil aviation sector and benefiting from the Organization’s programmes and activities, particularly in the areas of training, professional development, and the exchange of technical expertise, in line with the needs and priorities of Member States in advancing their civil aviation systems.
On this occasion, the Director General outlined the Organization’s priorities for the coming period, reaffirming the commitment of the General Directorate to strengthening direct engagement with Arab Member States, expanding areas of cooperation with them, and developing programmes and initiatives that respond to their needs and support the advancement of joint Arab action in the field of civil aviation.
For his part, H.E. Mr. Haider Shiaa Al-Barrak, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom of Morocco, expressed his appreciation for the efforts undertaken by the Arab Civil Aviation Organization in serving Arab Member States and supporting the development of the civil aviation sector. He stressed the importance of continuing cooperation and coordination with ACAO and benefiting from its expertise and specialized programmes in a manner that serves the interests of the Republic of Iraq and Arab Member States.
Both sides also emphasized the importance of continuing consultation and the exchange of information and expertise, as well as strengthening communication channels between ACAO and the Republic of Iraq, thereby supporting joint initiatives and advancing Arab cooperation across various fields of civil aviation.
The visit forms part of the General Directorate’s commitment to strengthening ACAO’s institutional engagement and direct communication with Arab Member States and their diplomatic missions, consolidating partnerships and expanding areas of cooperation, while supporting the Organization’s role in serving and developing the Arab civil aviation sector.
